A common question Charmed Aroma customers ask us is "How do you take care of your ring?" We want you to have a long-lasting ring, and so here are a few tips to ensure your ring is as good as new from the first day you revealed it from your candle.
Rings become tarnished because it goes through chemical reactions with compounds such as oxygen and sulfur dioxide, typically caused by the way it is stored. In order to prevent any body oil, lotion/cream build up on your jewelery, you can use a very soft cloth to clean and polish the ring. When cleaning your jewelry, you may also use warm water to rinse the ring. Use rubbing alcohol and avoid bleach when cleaning your jewelry. If you do have some tarnish, use baking soda to clean tarnish off your white gold/rhodium/sterling silver jewelry. This option is the most effective on mild to moderately tarnished rings.
Prevention is the best form of ring care. Do not keep your ring on while applying makeup, performing contact sports, swimming, bathing, or any other manual tasks since exposure to physical damage or exposure to chemicals will affect the quality of the ring. Avoid contact with salt, chemicals, vinegar, chlorine, and etc.
Storing the ring in a closed acid-free container will preserve the life of the ring since oxygen results in a higher chance of damage.
Also avoid direct sunlight for the gemstone, or the colour will become dull.
Charmed Aroma is not liable for rings that are damaged. Higher valued rings will have better material and plating, which means the jewelry will be less likely to tarnish over time. Rings under $500 will be 925 sterling silver. Higher valued rings worth over $500 will be platinum, or 18k gold.
Charmed Aroma maintains a high standard on quality control over its jewelry and commits to replace manufacturing faults free of charge up to 30 days from the original date of delivery.
